Vigorous upright plants with dark green, glossy, sassy leaves.  Good quality, very tender, excellent flavor.  Fast growing, high yielding variety.  Well suited for late spring or summer sowing, slow to bolt.  Developed in 1874 by the seed company D. Landreth & Sons of Philadelphia.
